Are You Jesus?

When I was sad and lonely you came to cheer me,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I was sick you are there to comfort me,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I was in need of money you are ready to lend,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?.

When I was hungry you  bought for me some groceries,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I was hopeless you encouraged me to go on,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I was rude and mean you kept silent,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I’ve done wrong against you, you always forgive,

this I thought you are Jesus.

When I was lost you took time to find me,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I was stubborn you were very patient with me,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I do not have a place to live you let me stay,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I’ve done terrible sin you did not judge me,

this I asked: Are you Jesus?

When I wanted to run my life without God you were sad,

this I thought maybe you are Jesus.

When you did all these, I was not only blessed; but,

you made Jesus real to me.

LORD, Help me to be….

Every person encounters their own personal struggle, and they each respond to it in their own unique way. Some may choose to confront it directly, while others may seek excuses or attempt to escape. However, there is no need to despair, as there is a benevolent God whom we can turn to for support. By asking God for assistance, we can strive to become individuals who spread His love and compassion to others.

Lord, as I struggle against the power of darkness, help me to be…

…  like Abraham who became the Father of Faith.

… like Jacob who wrestled with God to be blessed.

…  like Enoch who was able to “walk with God.”

…  like Noah who was able to keep his family intact.

… like Joseph who fear to do wrong before God.

… like Moses whose faith can divide the sea.

… like Joshua who can make the sun stand still.

… like Jehoshapath whose leadership is exemplary.

… like Hannah who was able to do what she promised.

… like Elijah who can call fire and rain from heaven.

… like Ruth who was devoted to her family.

… like Nehemiah whose leadership is extra ordinary.

… like Esther who was ready to die for God’s people.

… like Job who overcame the worst crisis in life by faith.

… like David who became the Friend of God.

… like Solomon whose wisdom is incomparable.

… like Daniel whose prayerfulness is able to see the future.

… like Hosea who was a consistent forgiver.

… like John the Baptist who prepared the way for the Messiah.

… like John who is very close to Jesus.

… like Andrew who can easily introduce someone to Jesus.

… like Stephen who is filled with the Holy Spirit.

… like Paul whose missionary work is undefeated.

… like Jesus who have set us an example.

And if ever I may not be like all of them at least be one, just one.

The Christ Followers’ Prayer

the boldness of John the Baptist

the courage of David,

the zealousness of Paul,

the cleverness of Joshua,

the enthusiasm of Timothy,

the patience of Job,

If these qualities have proven success in

spiritual leadership, with a humble heart,

grant them to me Father, I pray in Jesus name.  Amen.
